Polishing its fingernails that Time Out called it ‘best Sunday Club of 2003.’ The hugely popular and successful Third Place returns, after a short break, in its new incarnation as The First Sunday on Sunday 7th March (and every First Sunday of the month thereafter) at the magnificent Westbourne Studios under the Westway in London’s Portobello/Westbourne Park.
Legendary XFM jock Eddy Temple-Morris once again provides a relaxed musical backdrop for The First Sunday, inviting some of the most talented artists and DJs in the world to play each month. Lazy Sunday pursuits include old skool games (drafts, chess, frustration, backgammon, dominoes etc.) and lots of armchairs, sofas and bean bags to sit in and read all the Sunday papers in comfort. Gamers will be pleased to hear that our friends over at EA Games, will be providing a dazzling array of the coolest new games around and supporting The First Sunday cause. Our 16-player table tennis table is also back by popular demand, ‘release the balls!’
Kids are optional, and if you got ‘em, you can leave them to be both entertained and looked after (by professionals) in the crèche, or get their faces painted (sabre toothed tigers rule!), watch cartoons in the cinema and crawl into giant inflatables, all while you either get involved or simply relax on the sofas with friends. The chefs from the restaurant Under The Westway provide quality nosh including all day Sunday Brunch and a specially prepared kids menu. The Fish Fingers rule. Proper.
The First Sunday club welcomes all ages, and encourages people to interact and enjoy the power of play. “We are delighted that the concept we helped develop and create is back, bigger and stronger.” Adrian Leigh, Leyline Promotions and Eddy Temple-Morris [XFM]
