Leyline Present The First Sunday

In association with EA Games

Westbourne Studios, 242 Acklam Road, London, W10 5JJ
[nearest tubes Westbourne Park / Ladbroke Grove]
Sunday 5th December 1pm – 8pm [and every first Sunday of the month]
Adults £5, kids free!

It’s a cold Sunday afternoon. You don’t want to stay in all day, but the miserable weather limits your outdoor options… You wouldn’t mind a roast, but perhaps you’ve got kids and don’t want to bring them to a smokey pub environment? Well, we just might have the perfect solution for you, as not only can you get a fantastic roast at our monthly event The First Sunday, but we have lots more to keep you, and your kids [if you have any] thoroughly entertained.

At The First Sunday - which always takes place the first Sunday of each month, we transform the magnificent space at Notting Hill’s Westbourne Studios, into a giant play ground. There are game pods care of EA Games, a hundred seater modern cinema, DJs, a bar and restaurant, a crèche, board games, a face painter, a giant inflatable, Sunday papers, and an eight man table tennis table!

You don’t have to have children to appreciate The First Sunday as this laid back unique event is often visited by friends who just wanna hang out, and catch up in a stylish environment. Whether you’re nursing a hangover from the night before or just fancy a bit of change, we guarantee you’ll love fall in love and tell all your friends.

Music at The First Sunday will be supplied by resident DJ Eddy Temple-Morris, presenter of Xfm’s Remix Show, who’ll be joined by Johnny Le Plage [Peters & Beach, Easy @ The Greyhound] and DJ Fraggle. Expect a lush backdrop of blissful chilled out grooves, which you won’t need to shout over!

If gaming’s your thing, our friends over at EA GAMES provide us with PS2 and Gamecube game pods featuring the very latest games, often a head of their release date. December’s games are Ty, The Tasmanian Tiger 2, Bush Rescue [not out in the shops until 10th December], FIFA Football 2005 and Burnout 3: Takedown. In the cinema we’ll have Shrek 2, [which has only recently become available to buy and rent], not to mention favourite classic cartoons.

For our younger ‘guests’ [from the age of 2], we have a crèche, care of Jack In The Box. A colourful play den for kids, they’ll be looked after by professional staff who’ll entertain them with games, drawing, colouring and painting. Speaking of painting, did we mention we have one of the best face painters in the country - Bibi?

For the more boisterous little ones amongst us, we have a massive inflatable for them to loose themselves in, an 8 x man table tennis table for all the sporting folk and all the Sunday papers.

If you’re hungry, Under The Westway bar and restaurant serve a yummy brunch menu, cocktails and a traditional Sunday lunch [roast lamb and chicken]. There’s even a special kiddies menu [milk included!].

All we ask is for adults to pay a fiver [less than a cocktail round these parts!] and all kids are free. Once in all you pay for is your food and drinks. Profits from the event go to charity.
