Debatable: The role of art in pu 20.11.2007 click thumbnails for bigger images
Should artworks in public spaces ever aspire to represent the views or culture of a local community? Is there a line between so called "community based" art and "high" art? Can works of art keep their creative integrity whilst also functioning as social interventions or consultation tools? Join us for early evening drinks and a chance to thrash out this thorny issue!
The debate is chaired by Baroness Lola Young, with contributions from artist and curator Shezad Dawood, Louise Trodden, Head of Art in the Open and Rob Bowman, Head of programming, Artangel.
